-
Block A:
Foundations of Innovation Management and External Context: In Block A, participants are introduced to the fundamental concepts and frameworks of innovation management. This section focuses on understanding the external context surrounding innovation, including the key drivers and scenarios that influence innovation strategies. By employing scenario planning and tools such as PESTLED360 and Scenario360, participants analyze external factors and anticipate future trends. The aim of this block is to provide a strong grounding in innovation terminology, initiate the innovation process, and equip participants for more in-depth exploration in later blocks.
-
Self-Study
Participants create an ideation site for an organisation or a team and start collecting ideas. The results are then used in Block B to start designing experiments and learn how to collect, cluster, and vet ideas based on experiments.
-
Block B:
Internal Context and Non-Linear Ideation: Block B centres on the internal dynamics of innovation within organisations. Participants explore the internal context, learning how to cluster and facilitate non-linear ideation processes. This section introduces advanced ideation techniques and tools such as Transformation360 and Commercialisation360, helping participants generate and refine significant ideas aligned with their organisation’s strategic goals. The focus is on managing uncertainty, developing hypotheses, and performing Riskiest Assumption Tests (RATs). By the end of this block, participants will understand how to cultivate innovation internally and translate innovative ideas into actionable plans.
-
Block C:
Culture, Leadership, and Commercialisation: The final block, Block C, brings together the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous blocks, focusing on the cultural and leadership aspects of innovation. This block covers topics like fostering an innovation-friendly culture, leading innovation initiatives, and preparing for the commercialization of innovative ideas. Participants learn to conduct commercialization diagnostics and to fill gaps in their strategies with well-defined hypotheses and experiments. The block concludes with the development of innovation memos and high-level plans for implementing and scaling innovation within their organisations. Block C ensures that participants are equipped not only to generate innovative ideas but also to lead and sustain innovation efforts successfully.
